What To Expect

Weekly Meetings & More

Lion parents must accompany their scouts to every meeting, event and outing. We will meet weekly with the rest of the Pack on Thursdays at 6:30pm, at Paulette Elementary School. Have the scouts dressed in their class A or B uniform, with their handbook at every Pack meeting. Meetings usually last about an hour, sometimes we run over.  There are times that we will do activities with the rest of the Pack or Troop, mainly we will be on our own once the opening process of the meetings are done. Any fees for items or projects will be brought up in advance in order to provide appropriate financial planning. Parent involvement is encouraged. Please be aware that all leaders are volunteers that donate their time to make your child's time mean something in the scouting program.

Activity

Outdoor Fun & Service Projects

There are many activities that our Lions will be doing that require them to be outdoors. We will provide a checklist for the Lion to be aware of the proper items to bring for said outing. Water is always a must! Community service hours, hikes, campouts and field trips are some of the outings our Lions will be completing. Most of the field trips and outings will be free or low cost. If any cost, parents will be given advanced notice to have appropriate planning time.  We are going to have a great year. Have fun and “DO YOUR BEST”!

Important Information To Know

For The Parents & Caregivers

Our leaders use Scoutbook and Facebook, as well as GroupMe for texting to communicate with most of the events and adventures. Scoutbook allows parents and leaders to track the scouts progress as they go along in their activities. There are some used uniforms at the council office upon request, they are not on display and may require a form from the Scout Shop office to be filled out.

Based on the requirements for the loops as a Lion scout, supplies are needed to complete most of them. Each Lion will need to provide $15 for the supplies. The money covers all supplies for the whole year, for the loops. A list of where the money is going can be provided. Heather or Jessica has already picked up the supplies and more.

Facebook group: Union County Cub Scouts Pack #401, approval is needed to join group.

Scoutbook: Provide your email to the Pack Master and he will add you to the Scoutbook group.
