Grand Terrace has their Cub Scouts back!!
EST May 2018
After a short hiatus Pack 242 has returned to Grand Terrace and South Colton with the support of The Grand Terrace Lions Club. With new leadership and energy we are establishing ourselves as an excellent option for the youth of our city to learn about faith, community and self. Our amazing Cub Scouts range from 5 years old (Kindergarten) to 10 years old (5th grade) and are organized by grade level into programs specifically designed to challenge their creativity, physical ability, motivation and attention span. Lead by Trained and Certified BSA Leaders they are challenged to follow the more than 100 years of scouting values.
In the short time our scouts have been organized they have enjoyed hiking, camping, learning about nature, flag etiquette, fire safety, science and sportsmanship. With a whole year full of activities Cub Scouts are always challenged with something new, fun and exciting, ......but mostly they enjoy the games and camping!
We believe the goals of Cub Scouts are to prepare young boys for the journey into Boy Scouts and as young men to serve themselves, family, and community. We strive to live by the Scout Oath and Scout Law and simply to"DO YOUR BEST".
We are lead by our Akela's (Parents and Guardians), without them the Pack doesn't work. Coming from a diverse background every Akela is a leader and has a role to play. our Akelas are professionals, educators, engineers, tradespeople and homemakers that devote their valuable free time supporting scouting. At every level Scouting starts at home, just participating for an hour a week at den meetings is not enough sometimes. This experience bonds the whole family, develops values and promotes hard work.
We look forward to growing in our community
